For over four decades, the Centre has worked across agriculture, food systems and rural development, connecting scientific research with technologies designed for real-world application. Its work spans smart crop production, early crop protection, AI and IoT in agrifood systems, post-harvest innovation, supply chains and food

Build practical expertise to connect technology with real-world agricultural applications.
Identify where technology can address challenges across the agricultural system
Assess how sensors and connected systems capture field data for agricultural decisions
Evaluate how drones, remote sensing and geospatial data can reveal crop and field conditions at scale
Assess how agricultural data and AI can inform predictions, credit assessment and risk decisions
Evaluate how digital public infrastructure and platform ecosystems enable data-driven agricultural services, insurance and risk management
Evaluate how post-harvest systems, market linkages and business models create value beyond the farm
Develop a solution to a real Agritech challenge

Agriculture is becoming more connected, data-driven and platform-led. IoT, drones, geospatial intelligence, AI and Digital Public Infrastructure are changing how crops are monitored, risks are assessed, finance is delivered and markets are accessed.
As these systems converge, organisations need professionals who can connect technology with agricultural realities, operational decisions and business value.
Agritech expertise is increasingly relevant across:
The programme is designed for professionals across agriculture, FMCG and food and beverage, BFSI, technology, government, startups, investment and sustainability.
It is a six-month programme offered by the Continuing Education Programme (CEP), IIT Delhi.
The curriculum covers agriculture as a system, IoT and sensors, drones and geospatial intelligence, data and AI, Digital Public Infrastructure, post-harvest systems, market linkages and Agritech business models.
The programme goes beyond individual technologies.
It connects agriculture, technology, data, digital infrastructure and business across the complete Agritech value chain, from field intelligence to post-harvest systems and markets.
Unlike narrow technology courses or conventional agribusiness programmes, it brings both perspectives into one integrated curriculum.
The programme is relevant for:
