Claire Le Goues

Associate Professor, CMU

Dr. Goues is an Associate Professor at the School of Computer Science - Carnegie Mellon University, primarily affiliated with the Software and Societal Systems Department. Her research interests span software development and programming languages, with a particular focus on constructing, maintaining, evolving, improving/debugging, and assuring high-quality software systems.

She holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Virginia and a B.A. in Computer Science from Harvard College. Before pursuing graduate studies, she worked as a Software Engineer at IBM in Cambridge, MA, specializing in rapid XML processing.

Travis Breaux

Director of MSE Programs, Assoc. Professor, Software and Societal Systems

Dr. Travis D. Breaux is the Director of MSE Programs and an Associate Professor of Computer Science, appointed in the Institute for Software Research of the School of Computer Science at CMU. He leads the Requirements Engineering Laboratory and focuses on developing methods to ensure software systems conform to specifications, with an emphasis on compliance with accessibility, privacy and security laws. He has numerous publications in ACM and IEEE journals and is a member of ACM SIGSOFT, IEEE Computer Society, and USACM Public Policy Committee.

He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from North Carolina State University and dual Baccalaureate degrees in Computer and Information Science from the University of Oregon and Anthropology from the University of Houston. Dr. Breaux has conducted research at several prestigious institutions and served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Mongolia. His passion for socio-technical systems dates back to teachings he received in culture cosmology and philosophy.

Hasan Yasar

Technical Director of Continuous Deployment of Capability at Software Engineering Institute (SEI), CMU

Hasan Yasar is the Technical Director of Continuous Deployment of Capability at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at CMU. With over 25 years of experience, he specializes in DevOps, software architecture, cloud-based application development, and AI system development.

At SEI, Hasan leads a team in building a Smart Software Platform using cutting-edge technologies. He initially joined SEI to develop solutions for government cybersecurity frameworks and created a research agenda for the Cyber Security Solutions Directorate, directly supporting the US Department of Defense. Hasan also serves as an adjunct faculty member at CMU’s Heinz College and Institute of Software Research and is a noted speaker at global DevOps community summits.

Praveen Garimella

Praveen Garimella is the Director of Learning Platforms at ISB, where he oversees new business development strategies, the architecture of learning management systems, and product design. He specializes in developing AI, machine learning, and NLP-based software systems, employing user research to optimize interactions between users and AI. Praveen expertly manages large-scale software system development and leverages product analytics for strategic problem-solving and business growth.

Additionally, Praveen is an adjunct faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University, conducting research in artificial intelligence. He is a Ph.D. (ABD) candidate at IIIT Hyderabad, holds an MSIT in e-Business Technologies from Carnegie Mellon (2005-2006), and an MS in Software Engineering from JNTU Hyderabad. With extensive experience in executive and academic roles, Praveen has contributed significantly to the fields of AI and software development.

Asokan Pichai

Chief Learning Officer, TalentSprint

Asokan is the Chief Learning Officer at TalentSprint. He is also an Industry Instructor, Instructional Designer, and Programming Guru, with a solid software development experience of over 35 years.

With a PG Diploma in Computer Programming, Asokan is a subject-matter expert in Programming languages - COBOL, Clipper, C, C++, Python, Haskell, Elixir, Clojure, Java and Ruby. He has trained over 5000 software engineers, designed more than 25 courses, and conducted ‘Train the Trainer’ programs for more than 300 trainers, and nearly 100 instructional designers and developers.

Nicholas Groesch

Lead Instructor, TalentSprint

Nicholas Groesch is a lead instructor at TalentSprint. He began his coding journey in 2019 at Northwestern University, and since then, he's worked as a tutor and instructor with multiple leading bootcamps, full stack developer and tech lead at the Hertz RevLab.

He studied jazz, composition, music theory, and the history of philosophy at the University of North Texas spent 5 years touring the world as a pianist for The Polyphonic Spree, worked as an accompanist with the Joffrey Ballet School, taught math at his high school, built a coffee roaster and company, amongst other adventures. Nick enjoys world music, long hikes in the mountains, and the clarity of concise functions.

David Kosbie
